Cooking the traditional dishes of Cordoba Veracruz is a labor of love. Each dish requires a unique set of ingredients and techniques to create a truly authentic experience.
Delicious Dining Options
From the meats to the salsas to the tortillas and more, all of our authentic dishes are freshly made from scratch, every day!
Empanadas are one of the most popular dishes in Cordoba Veracruz, and they are made with a variety of fillings including beef, chicken, or potato. The dough is typically made with masa harina (corn flour), lard, salt, and water. The filling is then wrapped in the dough and fried until golden brown topped off with sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and your choice of sauce.
Garnachas are another popular dish from Cordoba Veracruz. They are made with corn tortillas that are cut into strips and then deep-fried until crispy. They are usually topped with chipotle sauce, chuck roll, sour cream, cheese, and raw onions.
Picaditas veracruzanas are small corn tortillas that are filled with green/red sauce, beans, and topped off with sour cream, cheese, and raw chopped onions then fried until golden brown. They can be served as an appetizer or as part of a larger meal.
Tamales jarachos are tamales that have been cooked in banana leaves instead of corn husks. The filling is usually made from shredded pork or chicken mixed with spices such as cumin and chili powder. The tamales are then steamed until cooked through before being served hot with salsa or other condiments on top.
Chiles capeados is another traditional dish from Cordoba Veracruz that consists of poblano peppers stuffed with chicken or ground beef and then battered and fried until golden brown. It can be served as an appetizer or side dish to any meal.
Welcome to Little Big Cordoba! Our family has always had a love for our culture and the authentic cooking style passed down through generations. However, as my parents emigrated to the United States and found themselves working long hours in traditional 9-5 jobs, they yearned for a way to share their love for their culture and cuisine with others outside of their community.
As I grew older, I had an idea: why not start a food truck to share our unique cuisine with the people of Reno, Nevada? With this new venture, we set out to bring a taste of our hometown, Córdoba, Veracruz, to the biggest little city in the world.
Our antojitos are not your traditional street food. We serve tamales jarachos, empanadas, chiles capeados, picaditas, and garnachas, all made with fresh ingredients and a passion for cooking. We’re excited to bring a taste of our hometown to Reno and to share our love for authentic Veracruz cuisine with everyone who visits us.
An Authentic Experience
At Little Big Cordoba, we believe that our cuisine is a reflection of our heritage and our love for cooking. It is a way for us to honor our roots and to share our culture with others. We are proud to offer authentic antojitos that represent the many flavors and influences of Veracruz.
We invite you to come and try our food and to experience a little piece of our hometown. Thank you for supporting Little Big Cordoba, and for allowing us to share our passion with you.
